Meet Heather Offer! Territory Sales Consultant located at our Texas office.
Tell us about yourself!
I was born and raised in Dallas, TX. I attended the University of North Texas but after marrying an Aggie, I am now 100% loyal to A&M. My husband and I reside in Dallas, TX with our 19 month old twins, Averie and Bentley.
How did you hear about Edmentum?
I started with Study Island (now Edmentum) in March of 2007. At the time, I was working at a country club and wanted a change. I came across a job posting for an administrative assistant in sales and decided to take a chance and apply. A few days later I had an interview and was hired the next day. Since that time, I have held many different positions within the company; I went from an admin to a sales rep, and then went into sales management. I was the Northstar Inside Sales Manager, the Education City Manager, and then the Higher Ed Inside Sales Manager. Currently, I am a Territory Sales Consultant, which I love!
What are you and your department responsible for?
The Territory Sales Consultant role is responsible for providing territory coverage for open territories within the organization throughout the year. The TSC is assigned all open territories and is responsible for a variety of tasks, including new business development as well as renewing customer subscriptions. Most of the my role is dedicated to covering open territories, however, I also spend time transitioning employees as they exit from the company and then “handing off” the territories to new employees that come into the organization.
What interests you about the field that you are in?
What I love about my position is being able to work with all types of customers across all states to help meet their educational goals. My weeks vary depending on the territories I am covering. I also really enjoy speaking with new employees that come into the organization. I am able to share my passion for Edmentum with them, and give them a clear picture of their current territory and opportunities, making their transition much smoother.
What is the most enjoyable aspect of your job?
I have always embraced change and this role is the epitome of change because no two days are ever the same. Depending on the territory, the customer, the product, or the market, every day is different. I also find that I really enjoy the customers I am working with and learning about education in each and every state. I am blessed with an amazing boss and I am lucky to work in Overlay, which is a phenomenal department, filled with brilliant people. All of these things make my job more enjoyable.
What activities are you interested in outside of work?
I used to spend time traveling with my husband to different places around the world and I always enjoyed seeing and learning about new things. Now that I am blessed to be the mother of one-year old twins, my world has dramatically changed. Now my passion is spending time with the twins and watching them view the world through their eyes. I love to see them learn all about the new things that they see and experience. Almost every weekend, my husband and I have something planned as a family, whether it is a trip to the zoo, a museum, or visiting family; I love watching them take it all in!
What are your professional goals?
My professional goals are to continue to enhance the Territory Sales Consultant role. Also, I continue to focus on being successful and meet the expectations of the organization as well as our customers.
