Meet Our Employees

Meet Kasey Witt! Recruiting Manager located at our Minnesota office.

Tell us about yourself!

Hello! I am a North Dakota farm girl, born and raised near a tiny town in North Dakota. I went to college at St. Cloud State University to study Business Management and Human Resources. During college I had an HR Internship at a granite company. Luckily for me, just before I graduated, the company I was working for opened a new HR Assistant position in their Austin, TX office. So the day after graduation from college, I flew to Texas to start my adult life and a new career (and of course, enjoy warm weather!). I was in Texas for several years and returned to the north in 2010. I have worked for a granite company, a biotechnology company, a fertilizer company and now an education company. It’s easy to say that education has been my favorite industry to work in thus far!

How did you hear about Edmentum?

I began with PLATO Learning in August of 2012. I applied directly online. I was very intrigued by the mission of the business, the products and everything PLATO had to offer. I also was interested in the size of the company. Not a gigantic company, but not too small either. I feel in our size of an organization there is so much more opportunity to get involved in different projects and have exposure to different areas of the business, compared to large corporations where it is easier to get lost in the shuffle. The overall package PLATO had to offer was very appealing to me.

What are you responsible for?

I am responsible for finding and hiring “rock stars” to work at Edmentum. I spend a majority of the day looking through resumes and talking to potential candidates across the US. In addition to hiring, I also get to work on HR projects including ways to improve our processes, our department and the business. We have a tight knit team and are small but mighty!

What interests you about the field that you are in?

I love working in the “people” side of the business. It is rewarding to work with employees and help make sure they truly have an incredible experience with Edmentum. Making a life change to move to a new company is a big decision and we want to ensure new employees have a great onboarding experience and a successful, long career at Edmentum. It’s also exciting to work with current/long term employees and watch them grow and develop within the company throughout their career.

What is the most enjoyable aspect of your job?

I love speaking with thousands (yes, thousands!) of candidates regarding the opportunities at our company. I believe we are a great company with innovative products and a bright future. It’s an awesome feeling to offer someone a new job and an exciting opportunity, when you know they will be successful at our company and be a valuable asset to our organization. Its great working with new employees from the very beginning and watching them prosper within Edmentum.

What activities are you interested in outside of work?

I love being outside! Hiking, camping, jogging, swimming, lake time, paddle boarding, flag football, sand volleyball, outdoor concerts; anything active and outside I typically enjoy! This is challenging to do in the Minnesota winters so I definitely try to make the most of the summers here and include at least one winter trip to somewhere warm. Which is why travelling, domestically and internationally, is another high ranking enjoyable activity for me.
