[Ask an Educator] The Best Ways Administrators Can Show Teacher Appreciation

We know celebrating educators is an important job, so wanted to make sure we went right to the source to find out exactly what teachers love most. We turned to our amazing network of educators on Facebook and Twitter, where we asked you to tell us: As an educator, what is something your school admin has done to celebrate you or make you feel special?
Here are a few of our favorite answers:
Can we join the Sunshine Committee?
The admin created “sunshine committee”
and with the committee I (and everyone) would get a thoughtful birthday appreciation gift.
Mine had a bunch of charcoal stuff. They knew me :)
It just builds a positive place and value.

Sounds like this administrator is on a roll!
My admin has done so much this year! A few examples are ,March Madness with a month full of surprise treats, given us the chance to wear jeans and gift card raffles daily! This cart was so bright and cheery and such a wonderful surprise for us too! pic.twitter.com/fwFzl9Y52f

Nothing tops a “Welcome Back” Breakfast!
During teacher appreciation week, our principal pushed a cart full of snacks and goodies to every classroom, interacts with the students while teachers go out and choose what they want from the cart. The first day we came back to our classrooms, she brought breakfast for staff.

Two words: Surprise Treats
They come around with surprise treats. Last week we got Lysol wipes (we do get wipes but this was not from the district). Our principal also grills lunch for or cooks breakfast; we’ve had burgers, hotdogs, sausage on a stick, ice cream floats, Sonic drinks, French toast & more!

The little things can go a long way
I had an especially tough week this spring and came back to my desk to find a jumbo bag of Sour Patch Kids and a note on my door that said I was a rockstar! It totally made my day
