[Ask an Educator] Who inspires you?
[Ask an Educator] Who inspires you?

Teacher Appreciation Month is still going strong! We are celebrating our amazing network of educators on Facebook and Twitter, where we asked you to tell us about an educator who you appreciate! Was there a teacher who inspired you as a student? Or a colleague who inspires you now?
Over 160 educators responded with some incredible stories! Here are a few of our favorite answers:
“A good teacher can play an unforgettable role in your life.”
I appreciate my kindergarten teacher the most. Mrs. Rodríguez. She was the dearest person ever. I have dyslexia and she taught me how to read. Our relationship never weakened, we still talk to this day. A good teacher can play an unforgettable role in your life.

Simply the best!
My mother, a Kinder teacher, inspires me as she goes above and beyond the curriculum to engage, inspire, and nurture her students. She creates a hands-on, inclusive, and rigorous environment to reach every student where they are and to help them grow. pic.twitter.com/0mKDS3JGt3

A teacher today, a friend tomorrow:
I admire my 4th grade teacher Mrs. Kathy Feist. She is the reason I became a teacher I still see her and thank her for encouragement. She stopped in a couple of years ago for a visit and it meant the world pic.twitter.com/zXSP6fAKdX

A one-of-a-kind welcome:
I appreciate my 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Nancy Helsel. It is because of her welcoming classroom that I am a teacher today. I was a new student, in a new town and I was lonely and afraid. She made me feel like I had always been there. Thank you Mrs. Helsel.

High school teacher heroes!
My two HS teacher heroes, Miss Ewing and Mr. Hickernell, loved us beyond reason and made each day a delight--and we learned tons! I have tried to pattern my own teaching practice after them. pic.twitter.com/LYEGnhUXKu

Thanks a latte!
My teammate Tara is an inspiration. She pushes me to innovate and to do better each day. We love to transform our classrooms together. Next week we are going to turn our classrooms into a coffee shop to make our opinion writing more fun. All her idea. She is amazing. pic.twitter.com/ACmyCG3KfB

Going above and beyond:
Mr. Firestone was my HS art teacher. When I moved to the US, he was a teacher who took time to help me and teach me English. He even helped me with my schoolwork because my parents were not able to. Because of him, I graduated with a 4.0 and became an art teacher myself.

Teachers are amazing!
My mom is hands down my favorite teacher! She is so captivating and creative! She takes the time to build relationships and is her student’s biggest cheerleader! Now she’s doing it at the college level and their are waist lists to get into her class! pic.twitter.com/kvFdX08U65
