Meet Jasmine Auger! Associate Marketer located at our Minnesota office.

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Jasmine Auger and I grew up in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, a suburb of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. I attended Hamline University School of Business and received my degree in Marketing. When I’m not at work, you can find me playing with my 2 German Shepherds (Grace and Lady), reading a book, binge watching HGTV, or day dreaming of interior design possibilities via Pinterest.

What are you and your department responsible for?

In general, the marketing department is responsible for developing and telling the Edmentum story, to empower the sales process, and support our customers throughout the customer lifecycle, from brand awareness to customer engagement.

As a Marketing Associate, my responsibilities change daily which I love! Some days I am working to create a web page for an upcoming event we are hosting, and other days I could be drafting and distributing press releases. Being a member of the marketing team allows me to be extremely versatile in both my daily responsibilities, as well as working cross-functionally with other Edmentum employees.

What interests you about the field that you are in?

With the marketing field being so incredibly diverse, here’s a quick breakdown of what I love most about working in this field:

  • Nothing ever stays the same. Every project is different, and re-inventing the wheel is part of the journey we embark on as marketers. “That’s how we always did it” is a sentence that you won’t often hear.
  • Connecting with lots and lots of people: at its core, marketing is about getting your message through to people and identifying their needs. People have different roles, needs, problems, and priorities. A one-size-fits-all approach is no longer sufficient. Marketing requires constant communication with people and, as a marketer, you need to find ways to engage your audience.
  • Marketing is a balance of art and science: as a Libra (cliché analogy, I know), I can appreciate the balance that marketing requires. The art aspect of marketing is all the right-brain activity. As marketers we must focus on the emotions, visuals, and storytelling. On the opposite end of the spectrum, marketing is also largely about data and analytics. We get to test and measure how certain campaigns and emails perform. The key is to strike a balance – which is must easier said than done. Favoring the art too much means you won’t actually know what’s resonating with your audience, because you’re not measuring. And on the other side of the spectrum, favoring the science too much will lead your marketing to become robotic and hard to connect to. Marketing is the best of both worlds, if you ask me.

What is the most enjoyable aspect of your job?

For me, the most enjoyable aspect of my job is being continually tested (and trusted!) by my fellow team members with new and exciting tasks. As I previously mentioned, I am rarely tasked with doing the same thing on a day-to-day basis, which always keeps me on my toes. Even if I don’t have experience in doing a particular task, my managers and fellow team members always give me the confidence to try, and more importantly, the support and education I need when we are reviewing my work.

What are your professional goals?

While my professional goals are still very much in progress, I can definitively say that whatever I am doing, I want to be happy, and feel as though I am making a difference. Truly contributing to a company’s objectives and at the end of the day, making an impact on the lives of the customers. Both of which I can say I get from Edmentum, which makes this a truly special place to work.'s picture

Carly Bursik is the HR Generalist at Edmentum and has worked for the company since 2013. In her role, she provides support to help facilitate the successful implementation of Edmentum's goals in a variety of areas including recruiting, onboarding and training and development. Carly has a B.S. in Business and Marketing Education from the University of Minnesota.
