Sheboygan Falls School District
Sheboygan Falls Middle School was placed on Wisconsin’s list of “Title 1 Focus Schools” due to achievement gaps for two subgroups in math. The school needed a solution that would identify those students at risk of not passing their current grade and help them get back to grade level. Initially, Sheboygan Falls School District’s main goals focused on supporting response to intervention (RTI) programs in the middle school with Study Island’s online practice and assessments; however, the district soon started identifying other uses for Edmentum’s Study Island and other solutions, including Edmentum Assessments and Plato Courseware, across other schools in the district. Abraham Clark High School in New Jersey was challenged with raising persistently low graduation rates. To address the issue, the high school decided to refresh its credit recovery and career and technical education programs by using Edmentum’s Plato Courseware in a blended learning setting. Through a combination of innovative teaching in the school’s Ram Academic Program (RAP) and online curriculum from Plato Courseware, graduation rates have increased 22% since partnering with Edmentum. Vincennes Community School Corporation
Vincennes Community School Corporation (VCSC) in Indiana was searching for a comprehensive solution to help address a variety of student needs, including formative assessment, remediation, credit recovery, and accelerated learning. VCSC partnered with Edmentum to implement a suite of online solutions, including Plato Courseware, Study Island, EducationCity, Reading Eggs, Reading Eggspress, and Edmentum Assessments. YouthBuild is an international organization that serves young people between the ages of 18–24 and pairs high school equivalency education with on-the-job training and work experience in the construction industry, building homes and other structures in communities with need. YouthBuild Indy in Indianapolis, Indiana, implemented Edmentum’s Plato Courseware and Edmentum Assessments to identify and address student’s individual needs and focus on specific knowledge gaps with one-to-one tutoring and small-group instruction. Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Texas is one of the highest performing Title I schools in its district. When looking for an online solution, the school needed a program aligned to Texas’ state standards for its 3rd through 5th grade students in math, reading, and science. Wilson Elementary was able to successfully implement Edmentum’s Study Island as a supplement to its high-quality instruction in the classroom.
