[Edmentum’s Commitment] Meeting State & 3rd Party Approvals with Quality Content

As adoption of online tools expands in schools and the number of digital curriculum providers grows, states are taking important steps to ensure quality curricula and consistency of education for all students. In many states, this has resulted in the creation of state-approved course lists, as well as increased consideration placed on the standards and approvals of third-party review organizations like iNACOL, ISTE, and Quality Matters.

This trend is likely to continue as implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) moves forward, and states assume greater control in regards to determining how they want to quantify accountability and what educational tools and resources they want to use to do so. Every state has articulated their own visions, strategies, and goals in the plans they provided to the U.S. Department of Education. These plans are critical to helping states ensure that every student receives quality instruction that supports college and career readiness.

At Edmentum, we put great emphasis on ensuring we are continually reviewing these state and third-party lists to ensure that we are meeting relevant standards and providing learners with engaging, meaningful online experiences. We focus on both developing content specific to individual state standards as well as designing all of our courses to meet pedagogy, technology, and accessibility standards established by iNACOL, ISTE, and Quality Matters. The combination of creating tailored curriculum and following industry best-practices for course design and delivery allows us to be a true partner in supporting schools and districts in their efforts to comply with ESSA requirements and graduate students who are prepared for success beyond the classroom.

Staying at the forefront of these state and national standards is an ongoing job, and one that we are fully dedicated to as a critical part of our commitment to quality content. That’s why we’re very excited that we were recently able to announce course approvals from 43 state agencies and third-party organizations. Interested in learning more?
