Edmentum’s New CTE Career Path
Edmentum’s New CTE Career Path

At Edmentum, we want all students to achieve their educational and career goals—even beyond high school graduation. One way we can support students through graduation and into the workforce is by preparing them for a career. This is where Edmentum’s newest CTE course comes in!
Starting July 23, Edmentum’s CTE offerings will include a new course that guides students toward a certification:
- CompTIA A+ 220-901 Exam Preparation covers PC hardware and peripherals, mobile device hardware, networking and troubleshooting hardware, and network connectivity issues.
- CompTIA A+ 220-902 Exam Preparation covers installing and configuring operating systems, including Windows, iOS, Android, Apple OS X, and Linux. It also addresses security, the fundamentals of cloud computing, and operational procedures.
This course includes live videos, interactive simulations, and practice exams in addition to the engaging lessons and activities typical of Edmentum courses. Let’s take a closer look:
CompTIA A+ Exam Preparation Courses
CompTIA A+ certifications are nationally recognized as the preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. Edmentum’s course focuses on the concepts and skills that entry-level IT professionals will be expected to know, as well as the tasks they will perform regularly in their jobs. Our new course includes:
- One semester each of content based on the CompTIA A+ 220-901 (hardware) and 220-902 (software) assessment requirements
- A practice exam at the end of each semester that mimics the CompTIA written exams
- Interactive simulations that allow students to practice the practical skills needed for the performance-based portions of the CompTIA A+ exams
- Lesson-level animations that help visualize IT concepts and internal computer components
- Engaging, interactive lessons and activities, including technology-enhanced items
The simulations, a new addition to these courses, will allow students to practice the skills they will be using in their future profession and prepare for the practical portion of the CompTIA A+ exams. The simulations will be available as part of a lesson activity, as well as a unique portion of the course, so that students can revisit and practice the simulations as much as they need to master the skill. Students who take this course can prepare for the written and performance-based portions of the CompTIA A+ exams, which they can take as soon as they reach 18 years of age.
