Edmentum + Calvert Education Services—Standards-Aligned Virtual Learning for All Students K–12

I am extremely excited to share with all of you that Calvert Education Services is joining the Edmentum family. Calvert is an incredible education services group that helps both educators and students succeed with virtual and blended learning solutions. Its incredible products help students build the important lifelong skills needed to thrive in a fast-paced world. This announcement unites Calvert’s blended learning solutions with Edmentum’s award-winning Courseware. Together, Edmentum and Calvert will provide schools and districts across the nation with even greater access to high-quality, standards-aligned K–12 digital curriculum delivered by state-certified educators through Edmentum’s EdOptions Academy.

I’m excited about this for a lot of reasons, but I’d like to take a moment to share three of the biggest reasons with you.

Fully-accredited, standards-aligned virtual curriculum, now available for grades K–12

Elementary students and their parents will have full access to Calvert Education Services’ best-in-class digital resources, step-by-step lesson plans, assessments, progress-tracking tools, and more through Edmentum’s EdOptions Academy. Our team of highly experienced educators will ensure that elementary students are fully supported in their learning journeys, and parents and students will have full access to elementary teachers at any time. These K–12 virtual learning options will be available to schools, districts, and families beginning in the 2019–20 school year.

Specialized elementary instruction engineered to engage younger learners

The online learning programs offered through EdOptions Academy help educators and students succeed through virtual solutions that build creative problem-solving and other lifelong skills needed to thrive in a fast-changing world. But, as we know, elementary students require a slightly different, more hands-on approach to education. Calvert brings a long history of success in online elementary instruction and offers highly personalized academic content specifically designed for younger students. This new partnership will enable parents and caregivers to play an active part in their child’s learning, with the knowledge that professional support from EdOptions Academy’s state-certified teachers is always available.

Flexibility to support families who recognize early on that their child would benefit from a nontraditional approach to learning

We know that, for many students, the traditional brick-and-mortar classroom is simply not the best fit. Edmentum’s K–12 virtual learning programs offer engaging options for children and teens who need an alternative learning environment, such as:

• International students
• Struggling students
• Homebound students
• Students who are part of a military family or traveling family

Bringing Calvert Education Services into our family helps us to even further support nontraditional students like the ones listed above. Edmentum’s expert team of elementary educators will be available to guide younger students along their learning journeys, and parents and students will be able to contact them at any time for additional support.
