Edmentum is Expanding CTE

New course additions add breadth and depth to our existing offerings

According to the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), the average high school graduation rate for students concentrating in CTE programs is 90.18 percent, compared to an average national freshman graduation rate of 74.9 percent. Additionally, 80 percent of dropouts say relevant, real-world learning opportunities would have kept them in high school.

Are you able to give your students the choices in courses they are asking for? With Edmentum, you can provide your students not only with an exciting array of new course options, but at the same time provide them with the skills they need to prepare for high-demand careers.

We are excited to announce we will offer over 70 Career Technical Education (CTE) courses by the 2015-16 school year to offer your students new ways to explore career options and receive training. These courses expand the depth and breadth of our current CTE offerings, with in-depth learning paths in the areas of Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications; Business Management and Administration; Health Science; and Information Technology.

Quoted in our recent press release, “The success of introducing students to career options through CTE is evident, and our new courses offer even more options for students to explore,” said Eric Swanson, group product manager at Edmentum. “By almost doubling our CTE offerings, students will have even more options to connect with different careers through the classroom.”

About 12.5 million students participate in CTE programs annually, according to National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc). Our new courses will help these students prepare for post-secondary education or careers with engaging and rigorous courses that cover all 16 Career Clusters® identified by NASDCTEc.

These CTE courses will be designed for use on mobile devices with engaging, real-world content and multimedia that ties realistic scenarios into each lesson. The courses will be available through Plato Courseware and EdOptions Academy. View the current list of courses to learn more.
