[ISTE 2015] Educators: What’s Your “Why”?
[ISTE 2015] Educators: What’s Your “Why”?

Last week, we talked about one of the ideas that we at Edmentum have been bouncing around frequently of late—teachable moments. As we have discussed this concept, it brought us to an even bigger idea—the question of “why?” Why are we in education? Why do we believe in edtech? Why are we all inspired to keep coming back day after day and, more than that, remain truly excited about what we do?
One of the best things about ISTE, the leading conference for technology in education, is the simple fact that it is a gathering of educators. Amidst all of the presentations, the sharing of new ideas, the show-and-tell of new technology, there is so much energy and excitement. It’s easy to see that everyone there really wants to be there. This year, we want to dig a little deeper into that excitement and ask educators the same question that we have been asking ourselves—why? Why do educators do (and love) what they do?
At Edmentum’s booth this year, we’ll be asking as many educators as we can this question of “why?” We’ll be collecting those responses and sharing them throughout the conference, both at our booth and on social media. Over the years, we’ve heard plenty of inspiring stories from educators whom we have worked with, and we can’t wait to hear more. Why? Because as we discussed the question amongst ourselves, we kept coming back to the same answer: we believe in the work that educators are doing, and we love to be in an industry that supports you!
So, come visit us at ISTE 2015! We’ll be at Booth 2406, and we want to hear your story of “why.” Can’t make it to the conference in person? Join the conversation on social media by using the hashtag #MovingEducationForward. We can’t wait for ISTE 2015, and we can’t wait to hear from you!
