Last week, we began to share some of the exciting enhancements and new releases coming from Plato Courseware and EdOptions Academy this summer. This week, we turn our focus to our foundational learning program, EducationCity. From debuting new content to unveiling streamlined functionality, we are excited to share all that our youngest learners can expect to see.
1. Enhanced Teacher Functionality [Coming July 27th]
New enhancements, specifically designed for teachers, will provide meaningful functionality that allows educators to easily individualize instruction and quickly track progress. For this release, improvements have been made in two key areas.
Creating targeted learning paths for students in the MyCity area will be easier than ever! Educators will be able to drag and drop content into a desired sequence and set individualized mastery scores that students must meet before moving forward. A new Tracking tab has also been created that will allow teachers to quickly view student progress at a glance.
For Indiana customers, a new standards map will align all content and activities to the Indiana Academic Standards. Current customers will be automatically provisioned the new Standards Map at no additional cost.
2. Streamlined Administrator Features [Coming July 27th]
Just in time for the fall semester, added administrator functionality will make set-up for the new school year easier than ever. Admin users will be able to upload and export teacher login information in bulk using spreadsheets as well as create more flexible usernames and passwords using foreign and special characters. Additionally, administrators will be able to control what features of the program are available to students during school hours.
3. New ELL Resources [Coming July 27th]
The Learn English module, which currently offers rich curriculum to improve academic, social, and interpersonal communication for English language learners (ELLs), will now include additional resources for Level 1 and Level 2 as well as an all new Level 3 to support the needs of upper intermediate ELLs.
