[Contest Announcement] Study Island 2020 Spring Questions Contest
[Contest Announcement] Study Island 2020 Spring Questions Contest
Now that you’ve settled into the spring semester, it’s a great time to evaluate standards mastery and to make sure that your students are practicing their skills in Study Island so that they’ll be set up for success on state assessments and beyond. We know how important this time of year is for you and your students, so we’re kicking it off with some FUN!
From February 9 to March 28, Edmentum is challenging all Study Island students to answer as many questions correctly as they can. As your students work hard to sharpen their skills, they can also win amazing prizes! And, educators, you can also enter our social media challenge for another chance to win.
There are three ways to win!
Three School Winners: The top elementary, middle, and high schools with the highest number of Study Island questions answered correctly per active student and an overall average of 60 percent correct or more will each win a school trophy, a $250 pizza party, and $250 for school supplies.
Six Student Winners: The student with the most questions answered correctly with an overall average of 60 percent correct or higher for each grade span (K–5, 6–8, and 9–12) will win a $100 Target gift card. The second-place student for each grade span will each win a $50 Target gift card.
Educator Social Media Challenge: Educators, from now to March 28, post a picture or a short video with a one- to two-sentence description about how you’re using Study Island on Facebook and/or Twitter, and use the hashtag #StudyIsland2020 and handle @edmentum to be entered to win a $100 Amazon or Target gift card. We’re giving away two gift cards, one for each platform, so enter on both Facebook and Twitter for two chances to win. Review the Social Media Challenge FAQs and official rules for more information.
Why should you participate?
Through multiple third-party and in-house research studies, we know that students who use Study Island, even as little as 30 minutes per week per subject, make statistically significant gains in achievement relative to students who do not use Study Island. Participating in the contest will give your students a boost in motivation to work toward mastering all of their state standards.
