[The Edmentum Podcast] Chat with the 2021 Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year!

This spring, we held our inaugural 2021 Inspiring Educator Awards, including a nationwide search for the best and brightest Edmentum educators who created innovative and inspiring implementations for their students. We asked our educators about their goals and challenges, qualitative and quantitative successes, and the reasons they choose to educate. Their responses illustrate how educators and Edmentum work together to create successful outcomes everywhere learning occurs.

This inaugural 2021 class of 21 terrific teachers and administrators represents the culmination of a nationwide search, bringing together diverse teaching backgrounds with one thing in common: using Edmentum programs to drive learning success.

But we wanted to really get inside the minds of these great educators. That’s why the Edmentum Podcast spoke with our 2021 Administrator of the Year and Teacher of the Year!

Edmentum's Administrator of the Year, Denise Handlon, spoke with host David Cicero about how Avon Community School Corp, in Avon, Indiana, used Edmentum Courseware to increase credits earned in their credit recovery program by over 2000-percent. By laser focusing on preparing students to re-enter first time credit classrooms, Denise and her team have been able to maximize the impact their school's curriculum on their most in-need students.

David also sat down with Edmentum's Teacher of the Year, Lindsay Wilhoyte, Success Coach at Vigo Virtual Success Academy in Indiana, to listen as Lindsay discusses how an "above and beyond" mindset is required to run an effective virtual program, and how they are re-imagining relationship building in a remote learning environment.
