Over the past several years, Edmentum has solicited feedback from our customers through surveys, classroom visits, focus groups, and usability tests. A consistent theme emerged from this research: our products were too complicated for educators who simply did not have time to spend learning how to use all the features we provided to them. The company responded by forming an experience design team with the mission of simplifying our products and saving educators time.
What is the biggest challenge facing teachers today? We ask this question of educators whenever we observe a classroom, host a focus group, or conduct a market research survey. The answer we receive is almost always the same: teachers never have enough time. At Edmentum, designing products that save teachers time is a core part of our commitment to being educators’ most trusted partner in creating successful student outcomes. One of the ways we accomplish this is by focusing on providing educators with comprehensive data on their students’ activity, achievement, and growth – data that is actionable, visual, insightful, and secure.
